Let the Framing Games Begin!

We are officially into the framing stage! We are SO excited to be at this stage; its been a long time in the making. The best part is that everything is now on our time frame and we can go work whenever we want. The sub contractors we've worked with have been great but it's nice to know that everything is in our hands now...daunting, but nice. :) Patrick has been working as much as he possibly can and we're almost done with the most difficult part; setting the rim joists and getting everything attached to the foundation. We have 3 more walls to frame in the basement and then we can set the floor joists and start on the main level. We have a goal of September 9th to be done with framing and October 1st the be able to start the drywall process (with electrical, plumbing, and HVAC in between). Our overall goal is to move in by Christmas so we're going to have a lot of steep deadlines in the upcoming months. Fingers crossed we can meet all of them and keep moving forward.

We are very grateful for friends who have helped teach us about this process and catch the things we've missed. It would have been a pretty big delay had we not caught this until we were framing. We also didn't realize how much fill dirt needed to be brought in to fill in the lot. We knew it would be a lot, but when we heard it cost $4,000 in ONE day to have 4 dump trucks continually bringing in dirt, we had a slight (ok, major
